Business opportunities for Swedish smart grid companies in Germany

Are you a Swedish smart grid company and interested in the German market? Welcome to a webinar on your business opportunities on the German market!

The webinar is arranged by the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Smart City Sweden and focuses on the framework conditions for a market entry of Swedish companies and the most promising business areas in Germany. These encompass not only grid technology, smart metering and e-mobility and charging infrastructure, but also smart cities and buildings.

Two German federal states are highlighted especially in the webinar: Baden-Württemberg, industrial home of German Mittelstand, and North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most populated federal state. These have been the destination of the first round of the Swedish-German Cleantech Platform and Smart City Sweden has been part of the delegation. Both states urgently need to modernize their distribution grids: Intelligent load management, control and sensor technology, smart metering and modern IoT as well as smart services will be needed increasingly. On top, both are required to handle the ongoing e-mobility boom and the need to increase the energy efficiency of its building stock. The installation of PV in combination with battery storage rises to the same extent as large-scale batteries are supposed to be used to secure grid stability.

In the webinar two German companies within energy present their most important focus areas and share their approach on how to cooperate with young companies. Netze BW is the largest distribution grid operator in Baden-Württemberg and Gelsenwasser is a North Rhine-Westphalian energy company being active even within infrastructure, the distribution grid and district concepts.
