Study trip to Sweden: Explore possibilities within sustainable urban solutions
How is Stockholm shaping the city of the future?
This study trip, organized together with NRW.ENERGY4CLIMATE, offers participants a first-hand experience of the innovative solutions driving the transformation toward sustainable cities and the business opportunities this creates for German cleantech companies. Over the course of three days in Stockholm, German SMEs will gain insights into sustainable urban development initiatives and Sweden’s innovation ecosystem, meet key stakeholders as well as establish contacts with targeted business connections.
Business Opportunities in Sweden
Sweden is internationally recognized as a leader in climate action and sustainability. Its ambitious national goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2045 serves as a guiding principle across industries and government. Reaching this target will require new technologies and innovative solutions, especially in the area of sustainable urban development.
For German companies offering relevant solutions, Sweden presents an attractive and promising market.
Preliminary Program
Day 1 – Monday, November 17
- Until 10:00 – Individual arrival in Stockholm
- 11:00 – Briefing on the Swedish market and the Stockholm region
- 13:00 – Networking lunch
- 14:00 – German-Swedish Energy Dialogue for Sustainable Cities:
Presentations, pitch session, and networking - 17:00 – Hotel check-in
- 19:00 – Dinner at the Viking restaurant “Aifur”
Day 2 – Tuesday, November 18
- 09:00 – Stockholm as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship:
Presentations on the innovation ecosystem, best practices, and open dialogue - 11:30 – Visit to the future: KTH Live-in Lab at the Royal Institute of Technology
- 12:15 – Lunch
- 13:30 – Company visit: Pilot project on the future of energy supply
- 16:00 – Additional company visit
- 19:00 – Joint dinner with key Swedish stakeholders
Day 3 – Wednesday, November 19
- 08:30 – Individual B2B meetings and/or tailored group pitches
- 12:30 – Lunch
- 14:00 – Insight: Viable Cities – Innovation program for climate-neutral cities
- 15:00 – Visit to a startup in the sustainability/smart city sector
- 16:30 – Debrief
- 17:00 – Transfer to Stockholm Arlanda Airport
- 19:50 – Return flight to Düsseldorf
Target Group
This trip is aimed at German SMEs offering innovative solutions for the urban energy transition, climate-neutral cities, smart city applications, or sustainable infrastructure—and who are interested in entering the Swedish market.
