Great interest for Swedish cleantech companies

For the second time during the covid pandemic a group of Swedish cleantech startups has traveled digitally to Germany, to be precise to North-Rhine Westphalia. The journey started with a webinar: “start-ups meet corporates” where ten Swedish companies, participating in the Swedish-German Cleantech Platform, presented their products and solutions contributing to a 100% fossile free society. The webinar was with over 60 participants well received from German corporates, networks and municipalities. It became very clear that Swedish innovation has great potential on the German market, especially as regards digitalization.

Ludvig Lindström from the Swedish Energy Agency opened the webinar with an introduction to Swedish cleantech competence and presented an impressive track record of innovative companies, where Swedish Northvolt is the newest shining star.

Verena Falb, EnergieAgentur.NRW and Hanne Hagedorn, Kompetenzzentrum Umwelttechnik, stressed in their presentations of the German demand side especially the topics sectoral integration, hydrogen, green mobility and circular economy as fast developing areas in Germany – not only due to the newly introduced CO2 price in Germany.

Transformation of the industry structure was another topic that was discussed in connection to the presentations of Sofia McConell and Nina Rismalm from Smart City Sweden and North Sweden Cleantech. Sofia McConell gave an inspiring overview of the transformation of Gothenburg which could be a best practise for cities especially in the Ruhrgebiet.

It seems that collaboration – one of the Swedish core competencies – is key to the success of the German Energiewende – so let’s collaborate and get in touch if you want to learn more about our companies.
