Grundels Fönstersystem welcomes new partner LEG Immobilien for a factory visit

In 2024, Grundels Fönstersystem joined the program to deepen their knowledge of the German market, its eco system and stakeholders. In late 2025, they teamed up with the German housing company LEG Immobilien, one of Germany’s largest residential real estate companies, on a pilot project. Grundels ClimateGlass solution significantly improves energy efficiency in buildings, without replacing existing windows. A major advantage in markets like Germany, where a large share of the building stock consists of older, yet structurally sound, properties.

Within the framework of the pilot project, Grundels ClimateGlass has been installed in three LEG buildings in North Rhein-Westphalia. Now, both sides are looking ahead evaluating results and exploring the next steps together. The goal is improvement in thermal insulation, indoor comfort, and noise reduction, while significantly lowering material usage and installation time compared to traditional window replacement methods. LEG representatives Katja Enders, Senior Program Manager and Stephan Thoenissen, Head of Sustainability came to Sweden for an on-site factory visit in february 2026. During the visit, they were able to experience firsthand how Grundels’ proprietary ClimateGlass technology is produced and how their specialised production line boost their competiveness.

This partnership is a great example of what can happen when Swedish innovation meets German scale. For companies considering expansion into Germany, it shows that the opportunities are real and that the right support and local partnerships can make all the difference.
