Be Part of Our 2025 Success Story!
We invite small and medium-sized Swedish companies specializing in energy and climate innovations within Sustainable Mobility and Sustainable Cities to apply for the upcoming edition of our accelerator program Swedish-German Cleantech Platform. The application deadline is 1 December, 2024. The Swedish Energy Agency, in collaboration with the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, runs the accelerator program, which is designed to facilitate the entry of Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the German market. As the demand for products and solutions in these areas is significant, presenting appealing business opportunities for Swedish companies leading the way in these fields.
Solutions with strong potential in the German market span various sectors, including software, hardware, and innovative business models across key areas:
- Sustainable Mobility: This includes e-mobility, alternative fuels such as
hydrogen, infrastructure and system solutions, as well as advancements in
transport, logistics, and more. - Sustainable Cities: Key solutions here address heating and cooling, energy-
efficient buildings, urban infrastructure, and the development of climate-
neutral, connected neighborhoods, among other areas.
The Swedish-German Cleantech Platform offers a comprehensive one-year coaching program focusing on key success factors in the German market, along with personalized advice to optimize your company’s offer. Additionally, the program includes tailor-made B2B meetings, which provide valuable connections with potential customers and partners—a central component of the initiative.
Program
- Joint Kick-Off in Berlin: Participants start with an introductory meeting with key German actors and attend the SET Tech Festival, organized by the German Energy Agency (Dena). The kick-off also includes a joint dialogue forum with relevant German stakeholders.
- Development of Market Entry Strategies: Each company receives tailored support to develop individual market entry strategies and assistance with booking both digital and in-person B2B meetings.
- Delegation Trip: Each company participates in a delegation trip to prioritized federal state(s) in Germany. The trip focuses on individual meetings, roundtable discussions, pitch sessions, and networking events.
- Closing Event: The program concludes with an event that summarizes the participants’ experiences and ties together the final insights and connections.
Who is eligible to apply?
Companies interested in the program should meet the following criteria:
- Have a product or service relating to sustainable mobility or sustainable cities that is prepared for scaling up on the German market.
- Have an initial expansion plan for the German market or be in the process of developing one.
- Prioritize expansion to the German market in 2025.
- Qualify as an SME according to the EU definition.
Important information
- All requested information and documents must be attached for the application to be evaluated.
- Companies can only participate once in the program.
- Applicant companies need to have developed their own innovative product or solution.
- Companies or consultancies that are part of a group are not classified as SMEs.
- All program modules are compulsory. At least one representative must participate on site in Germany and a substitute must be able to step in at short notice if needed.
Timeline
1 December, 2024: Deadline for registration of interest
20 December, 2024: Earliest date for acceptance to the program
22 January, 2025: Digital launch of the program
4 March, 2025: Pre-meeting to the kick-off trip and pitch session in Stockholm
17–19 March, 2025: Kick-off trip to Berlin and SET Tech Festival
March–October 2025: Individual market strategy development, coaching and preparation for individual B2B-meetings
Autumn 2025: Delegation visits to selected German federal states
Autumn 2025: Closing workshop to share experiences and learnings
Costs
The Swedish Energy Agency covers all program costs. Participating companies are responsible for covering their own travel expenses (transportation, accommodation and meals).
