Twelve innovative Swedish companies enter next round of SGCP to contribute to Germany’s “Energiewende”

The Swedish Energy Agency’s program, the Swedish-German Cleantech Platform (SGCP), is bringing twelve innovative Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to this year’s program, focusing on the German market. The SGCP aims to introduce Swedish SMEs to Germany and is run in collaboration with the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s program specifically targets innovative companies that want to contribute to Germany’s ‘Energiewende’ in the areas of sustainable mobility and sustainable cities. There is a strong demand for products and solutions in these sectors, creating attractive business opportunities for leading Swedish companies,” says Ludvig Lindström, Senior Business Developer at the Energy Agency.

The twelve companies kicked off the program with a three-day delegation trip to Berlin, where they participated in a joint program launch. They also attended the SET Tech Festival organized by the German Energy Agency (Dena) and an energy conference hosted by the Swedish Energy Agency and Business Sweden at the Swedish Embassy. Throughout the program, the companies will receive coaching on key success factors in the German market and individual advice to optimize their offerings. In the fall of 2024, the companies will embark on another delegation trip to Germany, focusing on tailored business meetings with potential customers and partners.

“This year’s autumn delegation trip will focus on the states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, and Bavaria. North Rhine-Westphalia has ambitious goals to be a pioneer in the Energiewende and offers a favorable investment climate for green Swedish innovations, particularly in sustainable cities. The other two states are renowned for their established automotive industries, where we see significant potential for spreading Swedish mobility solutions,” says Therese Lindbom, Business Developer at the Swedish Energy Agency.
